review
Helios (book 2 of the Universe Eventual series) by N. J. Tanger is an excellent example of good science fiction. It is full of intrigue and non-stop adventure.

I really like N. J. Tanger's writing style. This is the second book of the series I have read and I was not disappointed. It flows seamlessly from book one into the book and the adventure just grew more intense. The book is full of plot twist and turns and you have to keep up are you will be left behind. I really liked reading this book.

It was fun watching the characters grow and mature as the series progresses. You can see there strengths and ambitions come out in this book.

Helios by N. J. Tanger is a great book and I highly recommend this book to all readers. I would recommend you read the first book in the series, Chimera, before you start Helios, are you may be lost.

review
Dimension Lapse by Nicholas T. Davis is an interesting science fiction novel. It moved at a steady pace.

I did not like this book which is unusual for me. It was part of a set of books I received so I pushed through it. I felt the book lacked depth and maturity. I just could not get into it. The scenes lacked imagination and the sense of reality needed to make sci-fi come alive.

It also needed a good dose of editing. This made the book hard to read and follow along.

This fast paced novel never lets you catch your breath. The author has done a great job of developing a tale that is full of plot twist and turns which makes you dig ever deeper it the storyline. The author's style of writing makes the tale come alive and his realism puts you into the story.

I really like the cast of characters developed by David Leadbeater. They were very realistic and easy to believe in. They too came alive which made them easy to follow and get into their tale.

I know; I usually don't review cookbooks but when I received this book and thumbed through it I could not help myself. It immediately transported me back to my grandmother's kitchen with the sights and smells of great homegrown cooking from the garden.

I have found so many recipes that she use to make and I can't wait to try them all. With 240 recipes in the book, I will be eating good for a long time to come. A great example is when I saw corn fritter cooked in lard I knew I had a "real" country cookbook.

I highly recommend this book to cooks and cook-what-a-be's. This will keep you happy and satisfied for a long time to come.
