The Valley
of Darkness, Part 1 by A.B Whelan is the second book in the Fields of Elysium
Series. (See my review of Fields of Elysium on January 21, 2013.) This is an
exciting continuation of the story began in book one. As a sci-fi YA novel you
will not be able to stop reading.
The author
did an excellent job of tying the storylines and continuing to build on the
relationship between our two heroes. With each new twist we see the story build
and our heroes mature and grow. The story is easy to follow making it hard to
put down once you start reading.
A.B. Whelan,
as in the first book, does a great job of character development. By writing
with feeling and emotion you quickly become attached to the characters and the
story.
One
recommendation to all readers is to read the first book in the series first. It
lays the much needed groundwork for this story.
I really
enjoyed reading The Valley of Darkness, Part 1 by A.B. Whelan. I highly
recommend this book and series to all readers.
