Crossing Worlds by Zoe Saadia is the second installment of The Rise of the Aztecs series. This is an excellent historical novel dealing with the post classic period of Mesoamerican history in central Mexico.

Crossing Worlds, along with Book - The Highlander, held my attention and kept me gasping for more. The author did an excellent job of continuing the story she had started with Book 1. The action and adventure is none stop and the storyline is well defined. I found it easy to put myself into the story and follow along. Each twist and turn into the story added more excitement as the plot thickens.

By continuing the adventures of the main characters from the first book it is easy to follow them as they grow and mature into young men and warriors. With the author’s writing style it is easy to identify with the characters , sharing their thoughts and emotions.

If you loved The Highlander, you will not be disappointed with Crossing Worlds by Zoe Saadia. I thoroughly enjoyed this book and cannot wait to read more of the continuing adventures of the heroes.

I highly recommend this book to all readers.

I really enjoyed reading Fields of Elysium by A.B. Whelan. This coming of age sci-fi story involved jumping back and forth between two world and the many exciting adventures had on them. There was plenty of action which kept me on the edge of my seat and wanting more.

The storyline was well thought-out and believable. The author did a great job of describing the world of  Arkana and the many wonder and adventure the heroine had there. You could easily place yourself there and enjoy the sounds and smells. I like being able to join in the story and feel like I am there.

A.B. Whelan did a great job of developing the characters. They were very believable and easy to identify with. Each character’s part was clear and easy to follow. Again it was easy to get into the story and follow along with the main characters.

Doomsday Diaries II: New World Order by Aaron Powell is an action packed adventure novel into a post-apocalyptic world of the future. I enjoyed the story so well I could not put it down and read it in one day, which is unusual for me.

This is the second in the Doomsday Diaries series and I felt Aaron Powell really began to pull the story together. The overall storyline was well developed and believable. It was an easy book to read and follow. With each new twist you could feel the story intensity level rise and the excitement build. I enjoyed following the story and getting into the book.

The characters were well defined and believable. The main characters and the hero flowed seamlessly from the first book into this book with the continuation of the storyline. Each of the new characters added to the story helped build on the suspense and action.  Aaron had a few surprising twist with the characters which added to the story.

I am looking forward to reading the next installment.

I enjoyed reading Doomsday Diaries II: New World Order by Aaron Powell and I recommend this book to an adult audience due to the sexual content.

I don’t often get to review children’s books, but I thoroughly enjoyed reading Um … Mommy, I Think I Flushed My Brother Down the Toilet by Jeff Rivera. I could not stop laughing all the way through it.

It was well written and very age appropriate. The storyline was well developed and oh so funny.  This was just the kind of book kids love. The illustrations were great and added to the story and laughs.

Just to be sure I was not being an over grown kid, I read the book to my 6 year old grandson for his expert opinion. His first thought, based on the cover, was; “This is a girl’s book.” As I read on he started laughing and gave out a loud “YUCK!” ever-so-often. In a six year Old’s vocabulary this mean it was “great.” In summary he said; “That was funny.”

I and my expert consultant really enjoyed Um … Mommy, I Think I Flushed My Brother Down the Toilet by Jeff Rivera and highly recommend it to all readers.

If you like high drama and an action pack thriller your will love The Solomon Key by Shawn Hopkins. This pre-apocalyptic novel will keep you on the edge of your seat waiting for the next twist to the plot.

I really like the way Shawn Hopkins developed the characters. Each character was both believable and easy to identify with. I like a book where it is hard to tell who the good guys vs. the bad guys ultimately are. It will keep you guessing and wanting more.

The storyline was well developed and easy to follow. With all the twist and turns in the story I never lost my place. I found it exciting and hard to put down. There was one section in the middle of the book where it got bogged down with describing history which was tedious but, in the end it added to the understanding of the ultimate plot. So plug through this section, it is worth it.

I really enjoyed The Solomon Key by Shawn Hopkins and I highly recommend this book.

I enjoy reading a good historical novel and the The Highlander (Book 1: The Rise of the Aztecs Series) by Zoe Saadia is just such a book. Once I started reading it I had trouble putting it down and found myself totally engrossed in the story.

The author did a great job of developing the storyline. She laid her story foundation and then built upon each layer, adding to the suspense and action as she went. It was easy to follow the various plots and get involved with the in story as an unseen character. I love when an author is able to make me feel like I am there.

Each character was well developed and easy to believe in. It was easy to identify with each of the characters and cheer for each side in the story as it developed. Again, I like being able to place myself into the story and Zoe Saadia’s writing style allowed me to do just that.

I really enjoyed reading The Highlander by Zoe Saadia and I highly recommend this book.

Elyse Salpeter has put together a fantastic adventure in her book The World of Karov which will keep you glued to your seat and unable to put the book down. From the very first page I was captivated by the story and the characters.

The storyline is well developed and easy to follow. I really enjoyed the way the author describes the worlds she was creating making them believable. It was easy to feel you were there and a part of the story. I love it when I can put myself into a book as the unseen character.

Each character was very believable and easy to identify with. Not only the lead characters but the supporting cast of the story was easy to relate to. Each fit into the storyline and helped develop it and bring it to life. I love the way Elyse described her characters in each scene. When Alec entered a scene it actually felt like the room grew colder and darker.

I only have one issue with the book and it is a big one. As I was reading and really getting into the story I flipped the page and it ended. All I could do was scream, “No!” Elyse has done an excellent job of capturing my attention and made it a necessity for me to read the next installment of the “The Children of Demilee” series. Excellent job Elyse.

I highly recommend The World of Karov by Elyse Salpeter to all ages.
