review

I have just finished Of Blood and Brothers Book Two by E. Michael Helms and I am at a loss for words. You know that feeling of being a peace and totally satisfaction that comes over you after something wonderful has occurred. That is the way I feel now, complete.

Throughout both of the books the author did an outstanding job of telling a tale which captured both my heart and soul. As I read books I became caught up and was dreading the ending. But, when it came, E. Michael Helms brought it all together leaving me with of closure.

Now don't get me wrong. Both of these books are full of action and adventure. There is great detail told of the horrors of American Civil War and its aftermath.  The author stuck to historical facts about the major events he described of the war.

If you like historical fiction and you are a Civil War buff, like me, you will love this series.

I really liked Of Blood and Brothers: Books 1 and 2 by E. Michael Helms and I highly recommend them to all readers.

My Life Untold by S.S Gee Buro is a fast paced, exciting love story about survival during the American Civil War. It was a great read and I found it hard to put down once I started reading the book.
The author is an excellent story teller, weaving a tail of love and survival which was well thought-out and developed. The story was deep but it was also easy to follow. Having been to many of the sites talked about in the book it made the story come alive and captured my imagination.
I really enjoyed the characters. They were very believable and easy to relate to. S.S. Gee Buro did a great job of developing them and relating them to the storyline.

This was an excellent read and I really enjoyed it.

I highly recommend My Life Untold by S.S. Gee Buro.

Of Blood and Brothers by E. Michael Helms is one of the best historical fiction books I have read and that is saying a lot. The book tells the story of two brothers life during the Civil War fighting on different sides.
Part of what made the book so remarkable was the “feelings” and “emotions” the author wrote into the story. I actually felt the pain and fear during the battles. You could smell the smoke and gunpowder and hear the horror around them. The author did a great job developing the storyline while sticking to the historical facts of the various battles.
Having been to the various battlefields in the story, such as Chickamauga, and toured the hollowed grounds it made the story come alive to me. I found myself getting caught up and lost in the story.
E. Michael Helms did a great job of developing the characters. Each with their different personalities became real and believable in the story. It was easy to identify with them and become involved with their story.
The only problem I had with the book was how it ended. That problem was that “it ended.” I can’t wait to read the second book of the series.
I really enjoyed reading Of Blood and Brothers by E. Michael Helms and I highly recommend this book to all ages.
